Inscrit en Master 2 Informatique et télécommunications.

Why did you choose to come to France to do a masters degree in computer science?
I saw this opportunity as a real chance to go abroad, to see another country and to acquire a better understanding of a multicultural environment - as well as to improve my French!  The course in computer science proposed at the ENS Cachan - antenne de Bretagne, in collaboration with the University of Rennes 1, suits me perfectly - it coincides with my background, meets my expectations and is a very good grounding for my future career. One of the deciding factors for my coming to France was the fact that I already have friends here. They helped me to prepare my stay and were there for me when I arrived - that was really important.

How do you feel your cultural and academic integration is progressing?
For the moment it's going well. The first three/four months have been really enjoyable, the people are friendly and the staff at the ENS university are talented and welcoming. Despite language and cultural differences I've been able to make friends with colleagues and we work together on team projects - we agree on certain decisions and have come to a mutual understanding of each other - it's great!

To this day what has your best/worst souvenir been?
My best souvenir up until now was the first time I received the french kiss! It makes one feel very welcome and at home. I can't recall a worst souvenir. Naturally some moments have been more difficult than others...

What was the most difficult obstacle to overcome upon arrival?
That's an easy one to answer - the French language is really difficult to master. Thankfully most of our classes are in English and we work in a very multicultural environment. Getting to grips with everyday French is a huge obstacle to overcome.

Where do you see yourself this time next year?
This question reminds me of a quotation from the film Forest Gump: life is like a box of chocolates...
It's really hard to see what's coming down the road but if I had a choice I would love to pursue my studies in France and do a PhD.
